Users can click on any of the purple circles on the open page to find out more about some of the most common types of annotations you will see in the prompt books.

Interactive Chronology

The interactive chronology allows you to chart the history of Shakespearean performances and the lives of key actors and stage managers from Shakespeare's lifetime through to the mid-twentieth centuries.

You can browse by date using the histogram at the bottom of the page or the left and right navigational arrows. To help you find what you are looking for, you can view entries specific to a range of thematic categories or geographic regions. You can also search by keyword and create a printable list of the entries most relevant to your research.
